What do you do at The Villas?

Hi my name is Malia, and I am a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator at The Villas. 

How did you get interested in the health care field?

I was inspired to become a Registered Nurse because I wanted a job that would allow me to help others and I saw how rewarding of a career it was for my grandmother.

What advice would you have for others interested in a career with Ohana Pacific Heath?

My advice to others wanting to pursue a career in nursing would be... to follow your dreams and be resilient. Nursing can be challenging, but also very fulfilling. Nurses have many opportunities to work in a wide variety of settings and roles.  

What does Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month mean to me?

It's important to recognize different heritages like AAPI month because...it helps others to learn, understand and respect people’s cultures.

Who or what influenced you to be the person that you are today?

Something/Someone that influenced me to be the person I am today is...my family. My family has been very supportive and taught me the importance of kindness, respect and responsibility.
