Selina Unga, Resident Care Manager, Ann Pearl Rehab & Nursing

What do you do at Ann Pearl Rehab & Nursing?

Hi, my name is Selina Puanani Unga, and I am a Resident Care Manager at Ann Pearl Nursing Facility.

How did you get interested in the healthcare field?

I was inspired to become a nurse because I enjoy helping people get better when they are not feeling well.

What advice would you have for others interested in a career with Ann Pearl Rehab & Nursing or the healthcare field?

My advice to others wanting to pursue a career in nursing would be to do it because it’s your passion and not just a job.

What does Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month mean to me?

It's important to recognize different heritages like AAPI month because it shows our cultural/ethnic diversity in nursing.

Who or what influenced you to be the person that you are today?

When I was in intermediate school I was a candy striper (also known as volunteers) at Castle Medical Center, the staff there groomed me to be the person I am today.
